Our Departments

Investment

Research is responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing the firm’s investment models, which produce the forecasts of returns, risks, and transaction costs that drive trading decisions. The team comprises quantitative researchers and quantitative developers with a diverse set of skills and backgrounds who work together closely to support and improve these models. Collectively, all team members work together to manage the production and validation of our forecasts on an ongoing basis.

Quant Research – The quantitative researchers within the team generally have more finance and statistics expertise, and often focus on transforming investment ideas into signals, back-testing the signals, and implementing changes to signals in the models.

Quant Dev – The quantitative developers within the team generally have more software development and technology expertise, and often focus on creating specialized tools and libraries to facilitate the quantitative research process, developing techniques to work with large volumes of complex data, and performing data analysis while optimizing the testing and implementation of new investment ideas.

Quantitative Developers help build our next-generation Research data platform leveraging open-source, cloud and distributed computing technologies. They work on high-impact projects that are quickly adopted and drive change across the team.

Investment Analytics is responsible for overseeing and producing metrics related to our investment process. This responsibility includes portfolio attribution and other analyses regarding our investment positioning, weights, shifts and tilts. Investment Processes also creates tools to analyze and manage the resulting portfolios.

The team is specifically involved in portfolio construction, risk management, portfolio finance, and cash and corporate action management as well as execution and best execution analytics.

Technology

Our technology capabilities enable all aspects of our work. From our investment management to our client reporting, we rely on scalable systems to tackle larger and more complex business problems. We experience its impact on a daily basis: in our platform to discover new investment ideas, in the way in which we build our portfolios and optimize our trading activity, and even in the way we measure the progress towards our goals. Our engineering teams are constantly looking at modern technologies to enhance our systems, closely collaborating and working cross-functionally with business teams to innovate and improve our investment process and our business operations.
