Job Description

We are looking for a new member to join our Post-Trade Investment Services Group, who will be responsible for facilitating corporate action activity across the Arrowstreet portfolios.  This individual will also actively contribute to the implementation of new initiatives and process enhancements in this area.  This role will contain a significant responsibility for accurately analyzing and interpreting all aspects of each corporate action event that arises, liaising with the Portfolio Management team to facilitate the investment team’s election decision, ensuring such elections are accurately and timely processed and overseeing critical production processes and controls to ensure that certain portfolio investible universe settings and trading inputs are accurate and appropriate for use in the investment and trading process.   The individual in this role should have significant expertise and experience in administrating, analyzing and managing corporate action events, both voluntary and mandatory, should have a strong command of the equity markets and asset management industry and  robust knowledge as to how corporate actions feature in and impact portfolio holdings and benchmark constituents.



  • Monitor Corporate Action Notices.  Contribute to the event notification gathering and review process.  Ensure critical elements are appropriately identified and incorporated into analysis.  Capture and process  notification updates completely and accurately
  • Manage Corporate Action Events.  Own and facilitate  the corporate action review,  election making process, and actively manage the event queue.  Work closely with portfolio management  team to support their  analysis and election decisions, and ensure elections are processed correctly and timely
  • Vendor and Middle-Office Oversight.  Manage middle-office and other service providers of corporate actions.  Identify, escalate and take ownership to resolve any identified issues and work with service providers to achieve greater efficiencies in process
  • New Initiative Implementation.  Actively identify and contribute to enhancements and automated solutions. Identify business requirements and proactively implement project work related to strategic initiatives     
  • Designing Critical Workflows.  Contribute to the establishment and execution of new and/or improved business workflows, both within Investment Services as well across teams and with external service providers.  Own workflows and ensure ongoing reviews to assess the effectiveness of procedures are appropriately conducted
  • Relationship Management.  Develop strong working relationships with internal groups including our portfolio management, legal and client relationship management teams in order to support adding value for our portfolios and clients. Develop strong relationships with external parties such our middle-office and other service providers in order to monitor and manage the quality of our corporate actions process

  • Bachelor’s degree is a requirement; Finance or Accounting concentration preferred
  • Approximately 5 to 10 years of direct hands-on corporate actions and/or operations experience, including familiarity with financial instruments, portfolio accounting
  • Significant experience in monitoring, interpreting and managing complex voluntary corporate action events with ability to exhibit deep knowledge of how corporate actions impact portfolio holdings, benchmarks, and security reference information
  • Knowledge of the equity, currency, futures and other derivative instruments and markets is required
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and comfort and proficiency with large volume of data required; SQL and macro writing skills a plus
  • Ability to work in an independent, self-directed manner and to perform equally well as part of a team
