JOB DESCRIPTION:

This individual will be a key part of Arrowstreet’s initiative to expand its presence in the UK and European institutional markets. Given the importance of the role, this individual will be involved in all aspects of marketing, from helping to develop a marketing strategy to implementing the business development and client service efforts. Primary areas of responsibility will include business development to the institutional investment community, building and managing consultant relations, and managing client relationships. Additional responsibilities may include supporting other aspects of the sales cycle (RFPs, marketing materials, etc.), broad marketing initiatives, and product development. The job will be based in London following a 6 – 18 month posting in our Boston head office. Significant travel is expected.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement a sales calling plan for the UK and European institutional markets.
  • Build and manage relationships with investment consultants.
  • Support all aspects of the sales process, including managing requests for information, marketing content, etc.
  • Manage client relationships.
  • Support product development, general marketing initiatives, and all aspects of business development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate must have strong relationship management skills and the ability to communicate a sophisticated investment process to the institutional community. Other qualifications include:

  • BS/BA or MBA in Business, Finance, or Marketing.
  • 2-10 years of related business development experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience of generating business opportunities, managing relationships and generating revenue
  • CFA strongly preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Are you the right person to lead Arrowstreet during its dramatic growth phase by taking responsibility for supporting Arrowstreet’s Production System Environments?

This position has dual responsibilities as a System Operation Engineer and Desktop Support. As a System Operation Engineer, the individual will monitor the production systems and is the first line response to any issues that occur. As a Desktop Support person, you will be a point of contact for all technical needs that develop. This will include regular desktop assistance, as well as any network applications, production applications, LAN/WAN, telecommunications, hardware or phone issues that arise. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented with good analytical and troubleshooting skills. The candidate must be able to work independently to identify, research and resolve any issues that occur in the production environment. Good interpersonal skills are necessary in order to interact productively with the internal business user community, as well as the development teams. This individual will also be responsible for coordinating, reviewing and managing all installations of new code and software into the production environment.

In this role, the successful candidate will analyze and resolve routine to moderately complex problems which may include desktop and network applications, production applications, LAN/WAN, telecommunications and hardware. The ability to perform installations and maintenance of software and will assists users with issues including, connectivity, printing, and e-mail will be required.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for monitoring all production systems, jobs and processes.
  • Respond to all job failures; identify cause and resolve issues in an expedient timeframe.
  • Interact closely with business users for intra-day support and with development teams for additional support on complex issues.
  • Provide coverage for off-hour jobs in shifts as early as 3:00am and as late as 10:00pm on critical processing days.
  • Review, approve and manage the installation of new code into the production environment.
  • Answer help desk calls and resolve a variety of computer hardware, software application or local area networking questions/problems of moderate complexity.
  • Perform installation and maintenance of software and hardware.
  • Assist users with issues such as VPN connectivity, printing and e-mail.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate must live within commuting distance of our office and be currently permitted to work indefinitely in the United States.

Other qualifications include:

1. 2+ years as an Operations Support Engineer

2. 3+ years as Desktop Support Specialist

3. Computer Science, Engineering or related degree is a requirement

4. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

5. Ability to very quickly learn and understand the workings of and inter-relationships between software components.

6. Experience in Windows environment

JOB DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

We’re looking for a new junior member to join our research group. Our research group comes up with investment ideas, codifies those ideas to signals, back tests the signals, and produces return and risk forecasts based on the signals. Responsibilities typically grow in line with experience and abilities.

  • The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree from a top educational institution in a field that requires problem solving skills, such as applied mathematics, economics, engineering, or computer science.  We pay a lot of attention to your grades, your undergraduate thesis and/or other research projects, as well as recommendations by your professors.
  • Experience with Stata 11, SQL Server 2005, and C# / .NET will be useful but not strictly necessary.
  • Experience with and interest in financial markets or asset management is a plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job responsibilities include:

  1. Oversight of Arrowstreet’s trade compliance team including formalizing daily review procedures, management reporting and prioritization of tasks.
  2. Coordinating with Arrowstreet’s back-office service provider on day-to-day operational issues and long-term projects.
  3. Monitoring of, and reporting on, portfolio compliance and investment restrictions. 
  4. Design, implementation and management of team projects associated with enhancements to the trade operations process.
  5. Hands-on management of software developers to implement system projects.
  6. Oversight of short-term operational projects including: custodian conversions, in kind asset transfers and new fund/separate account set-ups and account on-boarding.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must be currently permitted to work indefinitely in the United States.

  • A Bachelors degree and CPA are required, as well as demonstrated experience in the investment advisory, fund accounting or alternative investment industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of teams is required.
  • 8-10 years of total experience in public accounting, direct and hands-on portfolio accounting/custody/trade operations experience. Experience must include familiarity with trade processing, corporate action processing and back-office operations.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel & SQL Server skills preferred
  • Experience working with IT personnel in the design and creation of project specifications, as well as demonstrated experience in managing large IT intensive projects.
